Build and audition a clean loop
Combine beat detection, precise selection, and zero crossings to refine a repeated passage.
Find a rhythmic passage
Open the recording and choose Analyze → Detect Beats. Press Snap settings in the transport bar and turn on Snap and Snap to Beats. Drag across a complete bar or phrase, then choose View → Fit Selection. Listen to confirm the beat lines match the music; if the grid is slightly off, adjust the BPM or beat offset in Region properties.
Listen to the seam
Make sure Transport → Loop Selection (L) is on and press Space. Listen to the jump from the end back to the start and adjust the boundaries until the rhythm continues naturally. Turn snapping off if it keeps you from the right point, and type exact times in the toolbar when needed.
Press Z to move both edges to nearby rising zero crossings. This changes the boundaries slightly, so listen again: avoiding a click is only part of a musical loop.
Export only the passage
Choose File → Export → Export Selected Region as WAV… for the loop itself, and save the project so you can revisit the boundaries. Audition the file in the player or sampler that will loop it, because players handle the seam differently.
Collecting several loops from one recording? Mark each with a range label and use Export Multiple by Labels….
