Export WAV, MP3, or a selected passage
Choose a playable format, export locally or to Puter, and distinguish audio from project files.
Export your arrangement
Choose File → Export → Export Local as WAV (Cmd/Ctrl+E) or Export Local as MP3. The export renders your region order, cuts, gain, fades, and processing into one file and shows progress with a Cancel button. Export to Cloud as WAV and MP3 save through Puter and can ask you to sign in.
To export part of the timeline, select it and use Export Selected Region as WAV… or Export Selected Region as MP3…. Check the selected span in the toolbar before exporting.
Choose WAV or MP3
WAV export is 16-bit PCM at the project’s sample rate with every project channel. It suits further audio work but produces large files. MP3 export uses 320 kbps, keeps mono or the first two channels, and uses 32, 44.1, or 48 kHz, converting to 48 kHz when the project rate is something else. Neither format restores detail already missing from the source.
A single exported file is limited to 512 MiB, so very long recordings should go out as MP3 or in labelled pieces. For adjustable sample rate, MP3 bitrate, filenames, and multiple segments, use Export Multiple by Labels….
Keep the project too
An exported file can be reopened as audio, but it does not preserve separate regions, labels, or transcript data. Save an .aeproject copy as well when you may revise the edit. Listen to the exported file to check the beginning, the joins, the ending, and the channels.
