Combine several recordings into one
Bring takes and files onto one timeline, put them in order, match their levels, and export a single file.

Add the pieces to the timeline
Open the first recording, then add the others. Drop a file onto the editor and choose Append to end, or press Skip to end in the transport bar and choose File → Insert → Insert Local File…. To slot a file into the middle, click where it belongs first; insertion splits the region at the cursor and places the new audio between the halves.
Each file becomes its own region with its own colour in the overview strip. Files keep their original sample rates and channel counts, so a mono voice memo and a stereo music bed can share the timeline.
Put the passages in order
To move a passage, select its time span and choose Edit → Cut, click the new position, and choose Edit → Paste. To select a whole region exactly, click its tile in the overview strip and read its start and end from the toolbar, then type those values as the selection. Remove a region you no longer want by selecting its tile and pressing Delete.
Where two pieces should be separated by a pause, place the cursor at the join and choose Generate → Silence… with the pause length you want. Use Edit → Preview Cut on anything you plan to remove before committing.
Match levels and smooth the joins
Select a region tile and press Region properties to adjust its gain and set short fades in and out; a fade of 0.05 to 0.2 seconds hides most clicks at joins. For a consistent overall level, select everything with Cmd/Ctrl+A and use Process → Normalize…, which keeps the relative levels you set, or normalize each region separately when they should all peak at the same level.
Listen across every join. Save the project, then export the whole timeline as WAV or MP3.
